Job Description

We are looking for a Program Manager, Customer Data Strategy to join our growing US Marketing team. This role will be critical in helping the US business maximize the value of our customer data in decision making and drive incrementally with our customers.

Our digital business has grown rapidly in the past year, and we have aggressive plans to accelerate this growth to deliver on our customer's expectations for years to come. With the exciting launch of our Loyalty program in 2021, and the heightened focus the business has given to our digital channels like the McDonald's mobile app and our CRM channels, this role will help organize and accelerate the delivery of analytics and insights to the drive the business.

McDonalds has a dedicated division within the US Marketing organization called Customer Data Enablement (CDE). This team consists of Analytics & Insights, Customer Data Strategy & Experimentation (Test & Learn) and Technology & Governance. The purpose and vision of the CDE team is to ensure that our US business, and all the marketing we enable, are laser focused on maximizing the value of our customer data across the marketing ecosystem.

Our guiding principle is to drive towards a rich, personalized experience for our customers across all McDonald's digital channels (e.g., Mobile App, Web, Kiosk, Digital Menu Boards, CRM, etc.) and to maximize the return and effectiveness of our marketing investments wherever and whenever possible. This position is critical to enabling this work in the most effective and efficient way we can.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the intake, prioritization, capacity planning and delivery of digital channel Analytics and Insights projects for all agency partners
  • Direct agency project managers on overall prioritization, project direction and delivery expectations
  • Conduct necessary meetings including kick-off meetings, requirements gathering sessions, regular project check-ins and retrospectives
  • Serve as the conduit between business strategic leads and agency leads throughout all stages of the project lifecycle and project stage gates
  • Build communication plans and ensure that all stakeholders and team members are aligned on priorities
  • Help strategic ideas take root and provide early facilitation and documentation until a more formal analytics project brief is established
  • Partner directly with stakeholders to gather detailed project requirements, identify constraints and assumptions and define the learning imperative for each project
  • Define success criteria for milestones identified and define how to measure overall project success
  • Monitor the progress of projects to quickly identify issues or roadblocks, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders
  • Manage and communicate changes to project scope and project schedule
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards through rigorous review of project deliverables and facilitation of stakeholder review and acceptance
  • Orchestrate share-out meetings to provide stakeholders visibility to findings and insights from analytics projects
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through regularly scheduled retrospectives and stakeholder and partner interviews
  • Design and implement targeted process optimizations meant to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness of work
  • Assist in vendor management (onboarding, contract reviews, assessments, scoping), manage budgets and financial forecasting
  • May also assist in developing strategies for providing tools and resources to strategy leaders, including self-service analytics/reporting platforms
  • May also assist in developing narratives around analytical findings to help strategy leaders gain insights from data and inform overarching goals
  • May also assist in planning and execution of weekly and monthly business review meetings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Informatics, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience working in a QSR, or Retail environment preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years' Project Management experience leading complex analytical and cross-functional projects required with a strong analytical acumen
  • Understanding of test design and measurement methodologies with an ability to understand the core tenants of the analytics in support of that work
  • Self-starter that can lead and manage with minimal guidance/oversight required
  • Demonstrated ability to drive project execution of multiple projects in an organized and disciplined manner in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
  • Obsessive attention to detail with an endless passion to provide accuracy in our analytics and reporting workstreams
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Experience with project management tools, including JIRA & Confluence
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships, collaborate, build consensus and partner in a global team environment with cross functional teams and outside organizations
  • Ability to communicate technical information with business relevance to both technical and business audiences
  • Willing to have the 'tough discussions' and in challenging situations, is tireless, strong willed, persistent, tenacious and determined
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize personal and project work according to benefit, goals and objectives
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams) proficiency
