Our team manages the Global Forecasting and Analysis for the Company including developing the Annual and Quarterly Financial forecasts, Long range plans and monthly analysis on the Company’s financial results. We work with teams across the organization and communicate performance to our business partners including the Senior Leadership team and Board of Directors.

Job Description

The Opportunity: 

Mattel is currently looking for Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning team in El Segundo, CA. You will play a critical role in supporting the financial management of Mattel’s largest divisions and support the implementation of Mattel’s largest finance project to transform our financial ecosystems to the next generation. This is an opportunity to learn about and coordinate with Mattel’s Global subsidiaries and other internal finance organizations including Regional Commercial Finance, Strategic Planning, the Controller’s office, Operations Finance, and Global Brand Teams for key inputs into the financial planning and analysis process.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Ensure all Next Gen Finance (NGF) major milestones are met to go live in April 2026, and effectively manage continuous testing, change management, data conversion, defect remediation, user acceptance testing, and so on
  • Work with NGF Operating Change Management Team to develop training materials, build checklist on change impact, and train stakeholder community
  • Build fundamental knowledge on current state and future state from NGF and effectively participate in each testing milestones
  • Support the development, analysis, and forecasting of the financial plan and quarterly forecasts for the consolidated Company
  • Consolidate, analyze, and summarize the monthly financial results for the Company against the plan, forecasts, and prior results and present findings to management
  • Develop short- and long-range financial targets for the total Company including specific regional targets that take into account the change in costs, inflation, sales and local pricing initiatives
  • Effectively communicate business performance via in-depth analysis of the P&L including Sales, cost of sales, gross margin, A&P, SG&A and EBITDA
  • Participate in strategic initiatives that focus on efficient utilization of resources, require in-depth financial analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with subsidiaries and other internal finance organizations including Strategic Planning, Controller’s office, Operations Finance, Sales Forecasting, Sales Finance and Global Brand Teams for key inputs to the financial planning and forecasting process.
  • Evaluate business problems and build quantitative models to support business decisions
  • Represent the Finance point-of-view at cross-functional meetings with business units such as Sales, Design, Development, and Marketing
  • Coordinate with the markets major events that impact accounting and financials, e.g. tax changes, audits, changes in divisional reporting methodologies, and requirements for forecasts and actuals
  • Maintain on-going relationship with the markets to understand the state of the business, the major changes and the key factors that impact the business

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • BS/BA required (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred)
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in financial/P&L analysis
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative modeling skills. Proven track record of converting information into data-driven insights.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in all other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to quickly gain proficiency in new/multiple financial systems
  • Oracle GL/Project Accounting and Hyperion Financial Management experience preferred
  • Proactive, high energy and detail/results-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrate ownership of the business
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $114,000 and $130,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience. Mattel offers competitive total pay programs, comprehensive benefits, and resources to help empower a culture where every employee can reach their full potential.
