Title and Summary

Software Engineer II (Hadoop, Java, Data)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Software Engineer II (Hadoop, Java, Data) to support the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of scalable, secure application solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet evolving business needs and drive the continuous improvement of software products and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software solutions in alignment with Mastercard standards and industry best practices.
• Translate technical specifications and design documents into high-quality, scalable code.
• Evaluate and recommend innovative technologies and solution alternatives to meet current and future business requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, system flow analysis, logic design, and cost/time estimation.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver projects on schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and contribute to production incident management.
• Ensure proper documentation of software solutions following established development standards and practices.
• Assist senior engineers in refining project documentation templates to suit project and technology needs.
• Contribute to the improvement of development standards and processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Support the collection and reporting of software and project performance metrics.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Experience:
• 3-5 years of Java experience
• 3-5 years of Scala and Hadoop experience

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
