Overview

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our talented team to aid Financial Institutions in their fight against money laundering and fraud. We craft bespoke services that help our clients gain an understanding of the underlying criminal behaviour that drives financial crime, empowering them to take action.

This is a hands-on role focused on defining, developing and implementing QA strategies, methodologies and processes across the software development lifecycle. You will work collaboratively with the team and stakeholders to deliver high quality, performant software solutions.

Role

• Lead the creation, maintenance and optimisation of the test automation code, strategies and processes.
• Take personal responsibility to deliver high quality, performant software solutions.
• Define, develop and implement quality assurance metrics including automation KPI's to demonstrate value and drive continuous quality and process improvements.
• Lead by example, building first class automation solutions and frameworks to validate all test types early in the delivery lifecycle.
• Create, review and execute detailed test plans, test cases and test scripts for various types of testing (functional, regression, performance, security, chaos)
• Identify, analyse and document defects working closely with the engineering team to ensure timely resolution.
• Monitor and report on testing progress, defect trends and overall quality metrics.
• Estimate and own quality assurance automation tasks (design, develop, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements.
• Mentor quality engineers on automation best practices, tooling, clean code and test maintenance.
• Develop a complete understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems. Apply that understanding in test automation code.
• Version control automation code with git and build, test and deploy using ci/cd pipelines.
• Review team members automation code, identifying errors and improving maintainability and readability.
• Perform demos and join acceptance discussions with analysts, developers and product owners.
• Assist in task planning and review as part of a sprint-based workflow.
• The role is hybrid, and the expectation is that you attend the office according to Mastercard policy.

All About You

First and foremost, you are passionate about test automation and software quality, delivering high quality products to solve real, pressing problems for your customers. You are proactive, detail oriented and enjoy writing and reviewing test automation code to a high standard.

• You can lead the quality initiative by designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies and methodologies.
• Demonstrable ability to write Java, Typescript (React) and SQL in a test automation context. You are happy to learn new programming languages and frameworks as necessary.
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools like Selenium/Cypress, Cucumber/JBehave, Gherkin BDD style test automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• You are comfortable working in a devops-based software development workflow, including building, testing, and continuous integration/deployment using tools like Jenkins, Gitlab, Azure Devops.
• You understand and have implemented test automation of Application Programming Interface (API).
• You have experience with performance testing tools like Jmeter, LoadRunner.
• You are comfortable communicating with a range of stakeholders, including subject matter experts, software engineers, systems analysts, and security professionals.
• Ability to drive results while being resourceful and tactful within a corporate environment.
• Works with ambiguity and with limited guidance.
• Experience with chaos testing using chaos monkey is beneficial.
