Eaton's AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Quality Engineer at our Euclid, OH facility! With over 300 employees, our Euclid, OH facility specializes in the manufacturing and repair of main engine fuel pumps, airframe pumps and aftermarket repairs. This site serves both commercial and military aviation.

What you'll do:

Position Overview
The Lead Quality Engineer provides strategic quality assurance (QA) leadership to project teams and high-performance work teams (HWPs) within the Euclid, OH plant. This role ensures that products meet customer and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across quality systems and manufacturing processes. The Lead QE also manages a team of Quality Analysts and Engineers, offering mentorship, performance guidance, and technical direction.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop a team of Quality Analysts and Engineers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
• Develop and monitor inspection and verification techniques to meet design and print requirements, including for prototype and production releases.
• Implement and maintain procedures in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS); ensure compliance with company and customer record retention policies.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement permanent corrective actions in response to customer and internal quality issues.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to interpret quality standards and resolve product acceptability concerns.
• Track and drive improvements in key performance metrics such as Productivity, On-Time Delivery, First Pass Yield, and Cycle Time/Backlog.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Supply Chain teams to eliminate quality issues and enhance process capability.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean initiatives and quality program analysis.
• Provide technical quality support to assigned projects, operations teams, or cells.
• Identify and resolve production process issues through data-driven analysis and corrective measures.
• Support and lead internal audits; ensure audit readiness and compliance with AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading or mentoring technical teams.

• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
• No relocation assistance provided. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Euclid, OH. (Active-duty military service members are exempt from this requirement.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• ASQ certification (e.g., CQE, CQA).
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Internal auditing experience and certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with aerospace products and complex machined materials.

• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results efficiently.
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in CAD and related engineering software tools.
