Location : any Petcare hub location, preferably Aimargues (FR), Franklin (US) or Melton Mowbray (UK)

Segment : Petcare

Contract Type : Ongoing

The role aims to provide to the business a better and broader management of quality risks, mainly focusing on internal stakeholders, but also expanding externally. Our objective is to support business performance through robust risk management with Leadership teams, but also being the most important feeder to set standardization strategy for our operations. Initial focus will be to define / implement the process in the Petcare Segment (working will all functions, Leadership Team and Corporate) and build deployment plan for all Divisions.

We're not looking for the traditional Q&FS profile, as more critical abilities are project management, business perspective, strategic agility and managerial skills. Of course, ability to do good quality judgments are critical to deliver this position at full.

Finally, this position is a great opportunity for associate development in terms of business acumen (overall Petcare), exposure to senior leaders and business leadership skills. Location is nonnegotiable and must be in a Petcare hub (ideally RCA in France or BRN in the US or WAL in the UK).

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional degree related to Science or Technology
  • Proficient reading, writing, and speaking English

Knowledge / Experience

  • Knowledge and experience on ISO 31000:2018 and related norms
  • Experience developing and deploying risk management capabilities
  • Knowledge and experience on risk data analysis
  • Experience working globally and with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at senior management level

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Is the Petcare expert on risk management with regards to quality risks and Petcare's ability to deliver quality products and services.
  • Develops the framework and tools to build a Risk culture across Petcare Quality and business partners as appropriate. Supports the business through consultancy, development of tools for risk-based decision making and delivery of risk management competency needs.
  • Identifies and manages key stakeholders in the global Petcare segment and its global divisions who have a significant input, influence or are impacted by quality related risk and opportunities.
  • Creates, owns, and facilitates global risk forums to facilitate the uncovering of unknown risks as well as the understanding of emerging risks and opportunities. These forums, in combination, must cover the different natures of the business (food, veterinary services, science & diagnostics, business platforms) and different dimensions of quality (reputation, food safety, medical quality, etc.).
  • For new business models in Petcare (e.g., retail, D2C, etc.), it is the key interface in the Global Petcare Quality team to get the understanding of the new business model (organization, processes, purpose) and the key risks and opportunities for quality, and deliver recommendations to the leadership team on how to approach their integration in the Mars QMS.
  • Develops, deploys, maintains, and governs the Holistic Quality Risk Management process for the Petcare segment and divisions, to ensure risks are identified, assessed, prioritized, treated, and monitored. Owns and manages the Risk Register for Global Petcare and Pet Nutrition.
  • Is an expert in Mars HQRM IT tool (RSA Archer) and influences its enhancements and continuous
  • Improvement to meet Petcare business needs.
  • Onboards, trains, and calibrates associates in HQRM process and Archer tool (segment and divisions) to ensure its consistent application across the business.
  • Tracks the impact and success of HQRM to business outcomes. Designs and delivers reports to key stakeholders, including senior leaders, with risk related insights that are fact based and actionable. As appropriate, provides recommendations.
  • Participates of cross-segment and cross-regional HQRM related forums as needed to represent global Petcare. Equally benchmarks externally to ensure the Petcare approach to HQRM stays up to date, relevant and effective.
