JOB SUMMARY:
Provide direction over and management of safety and emergency preparedness operations in concert with vision, mission, goals and department specific goals and objectives for the assigned Hospital(s) as a liaison between various departments and programs through participation in intra/interdepartmental meetings or workgroups.
Under minimal supervision, manages the safety and Emergency management program and maintains documentation to comply with regulatory and accrediting agencies as assigned and performs duties as related to maintaining the program. Has the ability to lead the development of policies and procedures and quality targets to ensure effective licensing, accreditation, and regulatory bodies. Regularly conducts assessments and surveys to determine the safety and emergency preparedness needs of the Hospital(s) needs that will need to be addressed in disaster planning to provide technical support to others conducting such surveys.
Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians; and proactively identifies and provides for the customers' needs with the LifeBridge Health customer standards as identified on each campus.
- Maintains sound departmental operations and fiscal responsibility.
- Inventories and maintains all equipment and supplies related to Safety and Emergency Preparedness (EP)
- Ensures compliance with regulatory bodies and accreditation agencies related to Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
- Ensures the organizations are well-represented in the community in participation and sharing best practices.
- Manage all training activities related to Safety and Emergency Preparedness (EP).
- Coordinates and participates in programs and duties regarding Campus Safety.
- Manage the development and review of policies and procedures related to Safety and Emergency Preparedness (EP).
- Due to the nature of the position, incumbent is expected to be available for response to the designated facility after hours, on weekends, and holidays in the event of major emergencies or disasters (unless on bona fide vacation leave or otherwise excused from responding).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; working knowledge of theory and practice within a specialized field
- Bachelors Degree in related field (Emergency Management, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Safety and Emergency Management (5+ years of experience preferred).
- Valid Driver's license and ability to clear driving record review by LifeBridge Health.
