Are you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex Program for the Warfighter, which implements the latest technology? Well, look no further! This is an exciting time to contribute to a mission-critical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Systems Engineer to a task that supports the transition of a critical legacy system. The SE will work closely with a team of software developers, system engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and analysts to perform requirements derivation and refinement and reverse engineering of existing legacy code. The ideal candidate has some experience with cryptanalysis, encryption/decryption, and/or software development to enable them to understand and document data flows and functionality of existing software. The SE will develop and deliver documentation, participate in various meetings and interface regularly with SMEs and external teams. The candidate must be a proactive, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The SE will develop technical documentation, system architecture and system design documentation; interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Derive functional, system, and performance requirements
  • Develop various systems engineering artifacts (CONOPs, architecture diagrams, etc.)
  • Write and review documentation
  • Work with a team to support and reverse engineer cryptanalytic/encryption/decryption software

Basic Qualifications

Fourteen (14) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

The candidate must have experience and/or knowledge of the following:

  • Systems engineering documentation
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • Experience with reviewing/analyzing software to determine and document functionality
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with cryptanalysis, encryption/decryption
  • Signals analysis and/or strong math background

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of software development (C preferred)
  • Visio application

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
