Leidos Dynetics Group is seeking a talented Software Configuration Management Subject Matter Expert to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. The Software Configuration Management SME is responsible for managing software changes which includes identifying changes, tracking changes, and managing the distribution of software updates. The SCM SME will carry out day to day management of the set of processes, policies and tools that make up the software development process. The SCM SME shall correlate all software changes to any corresponding hardware item that makes up the full product definition of the overall system.

Duties include ensuring configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations for data that is created from internal projects or supplied by the customer and executing Configuration and Data Management processes and controls. SCM SME will influence development of solutions that impact strategic project goals and business results and recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of function's strategy and operations. SCM SME leads and manages the work of other SCM technical staff that has significant impact on project results/outputs. SCM SME will provide oversight in creating/reviewing all items in Software Development system and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. SCM SME will support tasks in a dynamic environment, working closely with other CM/DM, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other teams as well as the customer and/or external contacts to support products throughout their lifecycle. SCM SME will be expected to work on site for a minimum of 4+ days a week.

Basic Qualifications

  • Education: This position requires a 4-year degree in a relevant applicable field and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of at least fifteen (15) years applicable experience in configuration and data management of software/firmware products where impact assessments, change authorization and adhering to industry standards is a daily required activity.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Candidate must have detailed knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques of technical domain and develops solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple area or disciplines.
  • Candidate must have detailed knowledge and experience in configuration change management principles and record types with emphasis on Software/Firmware management and Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC).
  • Candidate must have detailed knowledge of software/firmware, mechanical, electrical, and other CM practices as detailed in SAE EIA-649 (series and associated handbooks), CMMI, ANSI/IEEE 828, ANSI/IEEE 1042, IEEE STD 12207-2008, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15289, ASME Y14 (series), ISO 9001, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-HDBK-61, DODM 5200.01 (series), DODI 5200.48 etc.
  • Candidate must have detailed knowledge and a minimum of seven (7) years' experience using SDLC tools. (GitLab, Jira, LinearB, Codancy, etc.)
  • Candidate must have experience in the designation, generation, and maintenance of SCM metrics.
  • Candidate must have working knowledge and a minimum of three (3) years' experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools. (Agile PLM, PTC Windchill, Dassault ENOVIA, Siemens Teamcenter, Aras, etc.)
  • Candidate must have working knowledge of bill of materials, technical documents, product drawings, schematics, diagrams and specifications.
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft office products (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Candidate must be proficient in Adobe PDF editing software or equivalent
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft SharePoint collaboration software
  • Candidate must be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with executive management, multi-disciplinary teams, customer representatives and external contacts.
  • Candidate must have good organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Software Engineering Master Certification (SEMC), NDIA CDM, CMII or other Configuration Management/Data Management certification.
  • Experience in working with Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI) on government or commercial projects.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $108,550.00 - $196,225.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
