The NASA IT portfolio within Digital Modernization Sector currently has an opening for a Microsoft Collaboration Engineer Manager to lead our M365 Collaboration team that supports our Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the NASA End-User Services and Technologies (NEST) mission. In this mission, we serve as an agile, trusted partner to transform, integrate, simplify, modernize, and safeguard NASA IT systems and data. And, above all else, continuously enhance the end-user experience.

Microsoft Collaboration Engineer Manager will act in a lead role in directing the operations of the NASA NEST M365 and Exchange environments. They will manage a team and act as the technical SME. This includes Exchange on premise infrastructure in hybrid with Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Microsoft Defender, M365 security suite, SMTP gateways, Active Directory, Azure, networking to include express routes, DNS, and IP management. The candidate will play a key role in keeping the NASA M365 and Exchange environments operational, reliable, and secure.

This sub family provides leadership for those involved in the development, design, and optimization of one of more IT and systems functions supporting company and/or customer business processes and technical information system platforms. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and database management. Provides direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems. Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.

Job Description:

  • Provides measurable input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans in order to implement organizational strategies. Typically does not have budget accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.


  • Problems and issues faced are unclear, and may require understanding of broader set of issues, and may be difficult. Problems typically involve multiple families, projects or customers.


  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own project/family, which may include internal and external constituents depending upon the area. Requires ability to influence others outside of own project/family area on policies, practices and procedures.


  • Manages a small to mid-sized team consisting of experienced professionals. Leads, directs and reviews the work of team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports.


  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one area. Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.


  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
