Laboratory Support Application Specialist

The ESA V program within Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is looking for a Laboratory Support Application Support specialist to work at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).Leidos provides ATF with various IT services, engineering, and technical support for customers.Support includes managed IT services, managed service desk (Tier 1), deskside support (Tier 2), workstation and server engineering and maintenance, security, managed print services, ITSM, infrastructure, Agile development, and end user support among other things. We are looking for this specialist to provide basic administration for ATF's Laboratory Management Software, currently STARLIMS, and assist forensic examiners in moving evidence through the electronic chain of custody process.
The Laboratory Software Application Support Specialist is responsible for managing the laboratory software in the ATF environment, including managing the laboratory software in concert with the ATF LABIS owner/administrator, creating and modifying roles in the laboratory software, implementing change requests to the laboratory software, creating and modifying templates based on laboratory needs, ensuring continuity of the laboratory software during manufacturer hot fixes and updates, devising and performing test plans during the laboratory software upgrades, querying the laboratory software and generating reports for data calls, crafting work instructions for the laboratory software, producing user guides for the laboratory software as staff reference, and provide training to laboratory management and staff.
What You'll Get to Do:
The successful Laboratory Support Application Support Specialist shall:
--Become familiar with ATF processes for forensic investigations
--Assist forensic examiners with using laboratory software and following proper electronic chain of custody processes
--Assist users with access and training issues and questions
--Write user guides for staff on how to use laboratory software properly within ATF
--Support manufacturer updates to laboratory software
--Generate reports for management
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Familiarity with laboratory case management software, including chain of custody (Preferably STARLIMS) Familiarity with laboratory work and best practices Experience with developing user documentation and conducting periodic training sessions 3-5 years of Software Administration experience 2-3 years of identity / account management 1-2 years of SQL experience
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice-forensics or laboratory science
Past experience with federal law enforcement customers
Past experience with cloud-based systems in AWS
Candidate selected will be subject to a Government Public Trust security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to the customer's information. Current clearance is not required, but selected individual cannot start the assignment until the required security clearance is granted by the customer. This process is currently taking 12+ weeks (quicker for candidates who have current clearance).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
