Infoblox Engineer SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Description

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infoblox Engineer in Fort Belvoir, VA to support a mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) IT environment. This role requires deep technical knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) technologies, specifically within the Infoblox platform. The engineer will be responsible for configuring, managing, and maintaining Infoblox systems to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable network services across multiple DoD environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) infrastructure in support of enterprise DoD networks.
  • Design and implement IP address management strategies in accordance with DoD network policies.
  • Monitor Infoblox services and troubleshoot issues related to DNS resolution, DHCP leasing, and IPAM conflicts.
  • Integrate Infoblox with Active Directory, network monitoring tools, and security platforms (e.g., STIG compliance, DoD RMF).
  • Support change management, patching, and system hardening in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
  • Generate reports and provide detailed technical documentation for audits, assessments, and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, cybersecurity teams, and service desk staff.
  • Support incident response and root cause analysis for DDI-related service disruptions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI
  • BS degree and 12 - 15 years of experience in enterprise network environments, including 3+ years working with Infoblox DDI or Masters with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Strong expertise in DNS (internal and external), DHCP scopes and failover, IPAM provisioning, and network segmentation.
  • Familiarity with DoD network architecture, DISA STIGs, RMF, and other compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting/automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible) to automate Infoblox tasks a plus.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Infoblox Certified NIOS Administrator (INC) or Architect (ICA).
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, VMware, and Windows Server OS.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and other ITSM platforms.
  • Experience supporting DoD IT operations under ITIL or DevSecOps environments.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
