The primary duty of the successful candidate will be to provide daily support for the ESRI GIS systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), experience with ESRI technologies and will play a critical role in maintaining GIS applications our client's projects and objectives. This individual will manage administrative tasks within a complex multi-server environment, including starting and stopping systems as well as ensuring their overall performance meets expectations. The candidate will collaborate closely with application developers to migrate code changes through the different testing phases and once approved, into the production environment. The candidate should possess the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and interact successfully with the lead technical analysts, technical developers business team, and project managers.

The challenge:
- Support GIS applications using ESRI technologies, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Server.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with analysts, end-users, and project managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for GIS solutions.
- Collaborate with other GIS developers and analysts to support application deployment, configuration, and upgrades, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings to ensure proper access controls in alignment with organizational policies.
- Maintain geospatial data, including data collection, processing, and analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Optimize GIS workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain interactive web mapping applications and data visualization tools to effectively communicate geospatial information.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and user guidelines.
- Assist in the implementation of new GIS technologies and tools to enhance system capabilities and performance.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging GIS technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements.
What Sets You Apart: (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree with four plus (4+) years of prior relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Server).
- Experience with GIS programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL for automation and application development.
- Understanding of geospatial data formats, data management, and analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with web mapping and cartographic principles.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to work some weekends, and on call rotational support as needed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of agile and waterfall development methodologies.
- Ability to set, manage, and meet deadlines for functional teams while maintaining composure under pressure.
You Might also have:
- Experience in the public sector with a utility or energy-focused company.
- A solid understanding of systems development and project management methodologies and processes.
- Familiarity with cloud-based GIS solutions and platforms.
- Proficiency using ServiceNow case management software.
- Background in supporting large enterprise applications and engaging with business end users. Knowledge of database management systems, such as Oracle or SQL Server.
