Cloud Engineer
Description
Leidos Intelligence Group is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support an enterprise IT program. We are looking for an experienced applications developer to provide the Sponsor support for development in or transition to the cloud and the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Successful candidates will need experience with AWS Cloud, networking knowledge, and DevOps knowledge. The Cloud Engineer will work with systems in the customer's cloud environment, design and develop cloud solutions for the their IT infrastructure, and provide support for the implementation, design and building enhancements, and long-term maintenance of cloud environments.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The Sponsor has multiple application teams supporting a portfolio which is the central repository for all Sponsor's created applications.
- The Sponsor provides state of the art systems on the cloud, physical systems, and applications based on products such as AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and other web-based solutions.
- The Sponsor requires support for development in or transition to the cloud and the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
- The Sponsor provides management of system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.
- The Sponsor provides support to the cloud infrastructure including: day to day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all the cloud system problems.
The portfolio contains but is not a complete list of the following:
- A custom production application that has a central repository for the search and discovery of internal document sensitive data and associated artifacts;
- A custom production application which provides workflow and research with the ability to review, disposition, build a profile and update or nominate candidates to other Partner organizations; A targeting and knowledge management tool which stores products in a centralized repository making it easy for search and discovery.
- The Applications Developer will work with systems in the Sponsor's cloud environment, design and develop cloud solutions for the Sponsor's IT infrastructure, and provide support for the implementation, design and building enhancements, and long-term maintenance of cloud environments.
- They will create and configure virtual private clouds (VPCs), Elastic Cloud Compute (ECS) instances and drive optimization of the Sponsor's cloud environment and work closely with the System Architect to design and implement solutions that help modernize the cloud architecture to meet business goals.
- They will also analyze and address cloud specific defects, working individually or coordinating with the development teams and work in a cloud continuous delivery environment, writing production ready code that is deployed continuously; perform testing, debugging and quality assurance of the cloud infrastructure.
- The Applications Developer will play a major role in implementing a modern, high profile, mission enabling application used daily.

Basic Qualifications
- Must have a TS/SCI with a poly to be considered
- Must have a Bachelors and at least 12 years of experience OR 16 years or experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience with developing and maintaining high visibility cloud-based IT systems.
- Demonstrated experience with delivering solutions with cloud services, such as AWS.
- Demonstrated experience with consuming REST services and integrating them with a SQL backend, such as Oracle.
- Demonstrated experience with the following software development languages: JavaScript, Java, and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience with the following software development Mark Up Languages: XML, JSON, CSS, and HTML.
- Demonstrated experience with Linux or Unix.
- Demonstrated experience with creating functional cloud documentation and updating existing documentation.
- Demonstrated experience with Full stack environment.
- Demonstrated experience with creating and configuring VPCs and EC2 instances.
- Demonstrated experience building automation tools, such as Gradle and Maven.
- Demonstrated experience with Apache Tomcat.
- Demonstrated experience with Continuous integration systems, such as Jenkins.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and JIRA.
- Demonstrated experience deploying, managing, operating, and debugging cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
- Demonstrated experience with working in a fast-paced and technically challenging area with the ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems and assess impacts and recommend sound solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with Version control systems, such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Sponsor networks, systems, and services.
- Demonstrated experience with Relational Databases.
- Demonstrated experience working with Sponsor architects to design and implement solutions that help modernize the cloud architecture to meet business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience with the development of system prototypes and proof of concept in order to demonstrate proper application of design principles.
- Demonstrated experience with RESTful interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience with upgrading and refining existing production applications and working with legacy code.
- Demonstrated experience with supporting enterprise level production systems.
- Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's authentication and authorization (ATO) process.
Certifications
- AWS Certification or other certifications

Pay Range:
Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
