Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented A/V Security Engineer who is responsible for the operation, configuration, and maintenance of advanced video systems used in secured environments. This role ensures high-quality video signal integrity, optimal display performance, and the reliability of video infrastructure across conferencing, streaming, and surveillance systems. The ideal candidate is technically adept, detail-oriented, and experienced in leading AV operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate and oversee A/V systems including cameras, switchers, routers, projectors, LED walls, and streaming/recording devices.
  • Configure and troubleshoot video signal flow, ensuring seamless connectivity and signal integrity across all devices.
  • Ensure consistent image quality through proper color balance, frame synchronization, and resolution/aspect ratio settings.
  • Perform regular maintenance on conference room displays, video walls, and projection systems.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of A/V equipment; regularly inspect and test devices to ensure full operational status.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior AV/video technicians.
  • Stay current with emerging video technologies, tools, and production techniques through ongoing training and research.

  • Support event setups, live productions, and remote conferencing with a focus on secure and reliable video transmission.

Basic Qualifications

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) and 8-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 6-10 years of experience.
  • Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in systems integration, system administration, and technical support.
  • Demonstrated experience with software installations, network configurations, and hardware setup.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environments, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of configuration management (CM) and document management practices.
  • Proven ability to develop technical solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary problems with significant impact.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve critical system and integration issues efficiently.
  • Excellent technical communication skills; able to clearly articulate complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams on large-scale integration or support projects.
  • Experience in training and development, including mentoring junior staff or delivering workshops.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in a technical domain.
  • Experience managing multi-site or enterprise-wide IT projects and initiatives.
  • Background working with government or defense contractors (if applicable to your context).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, secure system configurations, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud-based systems integration and hybrid environments.
  • Certification(s) such as:

    • CompTIA Security+ / Network+
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server/Systems Administrator
    • ITIL or PMP for process and project management
  • Proficiency with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for system administration tasks.
  • Experience in coordinating or working with vendors, subcontractors, or external partners for integrated solutions.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as virtualization, AI-driven support systems, or edge computing.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
