Job Summary:
The Production Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient and timely manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams-including procurement, manufacturing, quality, and logistics-to optimize resource utilization, minimize delays, and support continuous improvement efforts. This role also supports domestic and international shipping and receiving along with supporting inventory management as needed.
Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts and inventory levels
- Monitor workflow to identify potential bottlenecks or delays and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely availability of materials
- Analyze production data and generate reports to support decision-making and performance tracking
- Adjust schedules in response to changing priorities, equipment availability, or unexpected disruptions
- Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure product specifications are consistently met
- Support domestic and international shipping and receiving processes.
- Ensures procedures are followed and documentation is aligned with quality standards.
- Performs process updates as needed or as identified by improvement initiatives.
- Management of reagent, consumable, and server inventory by performing monthly and quarterly supply and demand planning.
- Assists in periodic inventory cycle counting.
- Supports new product development by integrating new product deliverables into the production schedule.
- Purchase direct components based on forecasted need.
- Perform demand forecasting tasks, collecting the demand needs from various sources. Including the utilization of the SalesForce software.
- Facilitate meetings with demand stream leaders to discuss demand patterns and supply responses
- Create build sheets to assign raw materials for manufactured goods in preparation of work.
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Supports cross-functional operations as needed.
- Assists in the management of the vendor for the storage and disposal of hazardous material both liquid and solid.
- Manages refrigerators and freezer temperature requirements and responds to temperature variations on off shift hours as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field. An equivalent Associate's degree with 2 years of experience or high school diploma with 4 years of experience are acceptable.
- Proven experience in production planning or manufacturing coordination
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems and production planning software, preferably Oracle Cloud
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook)
- APICS certifications preferred (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD)
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a medical device/diagnostics/bio-pharma environment preferred
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Pay Range: $28.50 - 38.50
All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
