Main responsibilities:

Oversee, develop and execute of strategies through the strategic sourcing process for specific category and develop total cost of ownership models.

Develop and lead the team of Strategic Sourcing Buyers.

Responsible for leading strategic sourcing efforts in specific commodity areas as needed/appropriate.

Set priorities, performance goals and supervises the Sourcing Buyers, guide strategy development for major categories, oversees development of annual strategic sourcing plans that specify how savings goals will be achieved, institutionalizes strategic sourcing across the group.

Understanding of main macroeconomic variable movement. Correlate different variables for predicting cost fluctuation.

Maintain expertise in portfolio spend categories, remain current with market trends and emerging supplier.

Price Forecasting development and understanding all variable movement.

Lead the process to select and manage vendors, analyzing capabilities and strengths/weakness of suppliers.

Drive & Influence innovation aligned with Business and Category Strategy.

Align global strategies to Latin America Stakeholders needs and ensuring developing an expertise in the portfolio spend categories, as well as attend Procurement Global Agenda.

Ensure the most efficient processing of PO minimizing transactions.

Attract, develop, and retain talent base to build a best-in-class purchasing organization.

Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws. Influence.

Experience and requirements:

Mandatory

  • 10 years of experience in purchasing and at least 5 years leading a team.
  • English (Advanced) mandatory & Spanish (intermediate) mandatory
  • Advanced Excel skill as well negotiation expert for analytical capabilitiy and risk analysis
  • Previous experience in Procurement area as well multi-country leadership position
  • Ability to develop actionable recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Strong customer/client/supplier relationship skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Expected visionary leader with regional business perspective
  • Expert in negotiation and strategy development. Business mindset.
  • Experience in managing volatility, cost models, risk management, and continuous search for savings and innovation opportunities.
  • Fluent and assertive communication with local, regional, and global executive levels.
  • Analytical skills (knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SAP desired).
  • Leadership and influence skills; team player.

Desirable

  • Prior experience working for a global, highly matrixed, Consumer Packaged Goods company.
  • Knowledge of the CPG market, industry trends, and customer needs to help inform the product vision and roadmap.
