We currently have a vacancy for a Process Engineer at Barrow Mill. The successful candidate will provide technical support, capability building and control to the Mill, in order to achieve the highest levels of productivity and profitability while maintaining safety and quality standards. They will provide digital and technical support to the Operations Teams\ Mill teams to ensure problem solving through a continuous improvement mindset and driving the highest standards in Manufacturing Excellence.

About You

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

  • Provide professional engineering and process knowledge supporting Mill operations.
  • Own the centerlining process and use digital tools to track and optimise performance
  • To act as a champion of best practice in process engineering on site and specifically in converting area
  • Audit and make recommendations for the solution of problems relating to production, cost and quality of all production to assure the attainment of Mill Objectives.
  • Deliver cost saving initiatives in line with business expectations
  • Ensure assets are maintained in a "Safe to operate" condition at all times while promoting all aspects of safe working practices to meet all safety and housekeeping objectives of the plant.
  • Contribute to the development of sound safety programmes and maintenance of good working conditions, adherence to organization and Legal Safety rules and regulations.
  • Participate in the design and development of improvement projects in specific focus areas.
  • Assisting with the planning and set up of the machine for all product and process trials, ensuring trial process is followed.

What you'll bring...

  • Minimum of a Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) or equivalent and continuing self-development.
  • Experience of process engineering exposure within FMCG environment would be advantageous.
  • Chemical Engineering or Chemical processing experience would be advantageous
  • Project management skills.
  • Lean manufacturing and process improvement experience.
  • Working with diverse problems requiring in-depth knowledge of the operations environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to interact with a variety of individuals
