As the inter-company Team Leader within Kimberly-Clark's Global Business Services organization in Asia Pacific, you will lead a team responsible for managing inter-company transactions and reconciliations across the region. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of inter-company invoices, allocations, and settlements, while fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This position reports to the RTR Accounting Manager.

Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities:

Intercompany Accounting

  • Lead, co-ordinate, and ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of intercompany billings requests in compliance with US GAAP accounting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed review of intercompany invoice processing including monthly P&L variance analysis, local tax accounting and withholding tax requirements of intercompany transactions. Ensures timely expense recognition (on both sides) for year-end Intercompany related accruals.
  • Lead and guide the team to troubleshoot and to resolve intercompany invoice processing errors (if any) and perform manual adjustments as required with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Support and preparation of ad-hoc financial reviews and analysis to support decision making.

Controlling and Compliance

  • Approve/ Review assigned related account reconciliations in Blackline per established timelines.
  • Ensure processes comply with company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements, and local rules and regulations, and support the strengthening of financial processes and controls.

Collaboration and Support to Projects

  • Provide support and actively involve in projects related to Intercompany Accounting.
  • Guide and coach team members in managing the project deliverables to achieve project objectives.
  • Partner and collaborate with teams across GBS and other regions to deliver a collective result for global projects and global initiatives.

Business Partnering

  • Support business operations by partnering with GBS teams to meet SLA requirements.
  • Manage and support the development of analysis working closely with Regional FP&A teams to ensure integrated financial reporting processes are in place.
  • Lead and manage a team that partners with stakeholders across countries in APAC and other regions to achieve business objectives and efficiently provide the essential support services to the organization.

Continuous Improvement

  • Ownership of APAC Intercompany KPI delivery, and improvements where required, on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Identify and provide recommendations to improve process-based transformation via sustainable and scalable automation, simplification, and standardization initiatives.
  • Continuously review and improve Intercompany Accounting controls and streamline processes under area of responsibility.
  • Address and promote the adoption of a data driven mindset along with the deployment of analytical tools where necessary to generate information and insights for decision making.

Team Management and Talent Management

  • Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and training members to support their professional development and ensure high performance and engagement.
  • Build a sustainable talent pool and expertise in the subject area while ensuring succession plans are in place within all levels of the team.

About You

You're also a university graduate with a Degree in Business, Accountancy or Finance or other related field and have at least 8Years of continuous work experience. Essential Requirements:

  • More than 7 years of experience in inter-company accounting, financial shared services, or related roles, with a proven track record of success in leadership positions.
  • Deep understanding of inter-company accounting principles, processes, and systems, preferably within a multinational organization.
  • Degree in Accounting and/or professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in the same capacity, including practical experience in intercompany accounting.
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized accounting software, knowledge in SAP R3 and intercompany accounting tool will be added advantage.
  • US GAAP and SOX compliance knowledge will be an added advantage.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is essential. Competency in one Asian language would be added advantage.
