As the Manager of the Insurance Benefits team, you will own the day-to-day and long-term operational success of the Life and Disability insurance compensation programs at Justworks.  You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally as this role will partner with colleagues in Customer Success, Payments & Tax, Product, Engineering, Program Management, and Finance.


Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On



  • Manage a team of 6-8 professionals who resolve insurance benefits-related issues for Justworks members and customers. 

  • Establish and improve KPIs with internal customers to improve issue resolution times, accuracy, and satisfaction

  • Forecast and plan future ticket volume to allow for the volume of inquiries to scale with Justworks’ growth

  • Maintain a working relationship between Benefits and Customer Success Organization through regular check-ins and other established communications channels

  • Manage insurance carrier and provider relationships including, but not limited to, contract negotiations/renewals, SLA maintenance, and implementation of new products and services

  • In conjunction with Legal and Compliance, ensure Justworks’ compliance with ERISA, Federal and State requirements, and all other pertinent regulation

  • Maintain an internal resource center for each Justworks Life & Leave benefit offering

  • Oversee audits and billing process

  • Partner with our Product, Engineering, and Business Operations teams to improve systems, diagnose bugs, deploy solutions, and develop new products & programs

  • Collaborate with Program Management on the operational processes for annual policy renewals

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications



  • Minimum of 3+ years experience managing and developing a team 

  • Knowledge of Insurance (Health & Welfare and/or Property & Casualty) is a plus but not required

  • SQL & Excel knowledge is a plus

  • Project management experience related to systems/vendor implementation and/or process improvement

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Extremely detail-oriented with great time management skills

  • Experience working collaboratively

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment

  • Strong critical thinking skills

  • Experience with ticket management systems and workflows required

  • Vendor management experience required

  • You like working with people and helping others solve problems

  • You enjoy entrepreneurial environments and want to help build something meaningful


 


The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $122,000.00 to $134,200.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
