Strategic Financing Solutions Business Manager Analyst
Business Management teams are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business. The Global Capital Markets Business Management team sits under the Global Finance & Business Management (F&BM) organization of the firm and provides analytical, strategic and operational thought leadership to management, while driving the priorities of the business through long-term initiatives and everyday solutions. The team is aligned to the Debt and Equity Capital Markets business, a group formed by approx. 600 bankers and generating $5.0bn in revenues per year.
As an Analyst Business Manager within the Strategic Financing Solutions team, you will collaborate closely with the business management team to prepare business performance reports, deliver analytical work that informs management decisions, and measure the success of key business initiatives. Your focus will be on supporting the Strategic Financing Solutions (SFS) team, which consists of financing experts from Banking, Markets, and Sales. This team is dedicated to providing alternative solutions to corporate and sponsor clients, as well as offering access to transactions in both public and private markets for our investor clients.
Job responsibilities
- Fee & pipeline analysis: Track and understand trends in Capital Markets by analyzing booked fees and future deal pipeline activity. Provide insights on drivers of change to F&BM partners and management team
- Market & competitor analysis: Analyze competitor data, in particular league tables, to benchmark JPMorgan's performance against other Investment Banking peers and assist the management team in understanding underlying trends behind competitor trends
- Management Reporting: Provide weekly updates to senior management on deals announced/closed/priced, new mandates, changes in pipeline and forecast and other relevant performance metrics
- Business performance reviews & presentations: Prepare content in Business Reviews and Town Halls. Review revenue and expense trends and competitor metrics to provide insights on performance highlights as well as risk areas
- Data management: Built and/or maintain various databases to monitor proprietary deal-related information not available in public sources to facilitate enhanced business analyses
- Business optimization efforts: Facilitate and manage various data-based initiatives around banker time tracking analyses, client coverage organization; headcount and organization projections; talking points for senior management meetings
- Ad-hoc projects and analysis: Assist with ad-hoc requests and projects to support the growth and development of our business

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- Strong analytical background to perform analysis, with ability to take initiatives
- Ability to work independently
- Organized and rigorous
- Resourceful team player with a positive attitude
- Microsoft Office experience including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
