As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Digital Technology team, you play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Your skills and contributions promote substantial business impact, utilizing your deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to address a wide range of challenges across various technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Design and develop comprehensive frameworks for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure consistent, scalable, and secure infrastructure management. Establish and optimize deployment pipelines to enhance the speed and reliability of software delivery. Develop and implement cost-saving strategies to optimize AWS usage and reduce operational expenses.
- Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability of AWS platform solutions. Implement best practices for monitoring, logging, and incident management to ensure high availability and performance. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with the Digital Product area group to promote the adoption of best practices and developed frameworks. Engage with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to ensure alignment and successful implementation of initiatives.
- Lead multiple critical work streams in the Chase Cloud modernization journey, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and successful delivery.Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with cloud infrastructure and platform engineering. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security best practices.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for AWS platform engineering, aligning with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and platform engineering to drive innovation and change.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Extensive experience in cloud computing, with a focus on AWS platform engineering and architecture.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing frameworks for IaC, deployment pipelines, and cost-saving strategies with tools like Terraform and cloud formation
- Strong ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of AWS services, cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and change.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional certification.
- Experience in a senior individual contributor role within a technology or cloud-focused organization.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and platform engineering
