DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Application Programmer/Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires seven (7) years of experience in the following: developing information technology applications throughout the entire development lifecycle; Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles. This position requires five (5) years of experience in the following: RDBMS; Spring and Spring Boot; Mock Testing Frameworks including EasyMock or Mockito. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: testing frameworks including Cucumber, Selenium, and Junit. This position requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Cloud and AWS. This position requires any amount of experience in the following: independently developing medium and large sized Java web applications from start to finish, including performing client interaction, validating requirements, system design, frontend and U development, interacting with Java EE application servers, web services, utilizing various Java EE APIs, development builds, application deployments, integration and enterprise testing, and supporting applications within a production environment; Java and J2EE including programming the language and core API's, web services, multi-threaded and concurrent programming, XML, design patterns, and Service Oriented Architecture; implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architecture; planning, designing, testing, debugging and deploying software solutions for managing infrastructure; performing project management, capacity planning, and operational efficiencies; analyzing infrastructure problems and constraints, inefficiencies, process gaps, risk and regulatory issues, and engineering software or automation solutions; collaborating with infrastructure engineers and architects to understand and identify operational improvements; developing REST, JSON, and XML Web APIs; Using platforms including WebSphere and Tomcat; SQL and Oracle, Cassandra, and Hbase databases; Java performance tuning, debugging, and Profiling Tools such as Jmeter, Eclipse, and RAD; writing code and employing design patterns.
