As a Senior Lead Cloud Platoform Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Data and Analytics Office, you'll be a key player in our agile team. We work together to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products securely and efficiently. Your expertise and problem-solving skills will be crucial in promoting business impact and tackling a diverse array of technical challenges. Job responsibilities
- Management of the Data Platforms Amazon EKS estate, spanning multiple clusters running across multiple AWS Accounts.
- Contribution to the organizational standards on Kubernetes related software best practices and collaborates with Engineering Leads to drive adoption.
- Drive simplification and standardization of Kubernetes Estate and deployment models.
- Provide support and guidance to development teams on Kubernetes issues.
- Coordinates annual Kubernetes upgrade / migrations of the estate.
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Lead the design and development of the cloud infrastructure offerings and platform tools, ensuring that they are secure, scalable, and reliable, serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus, and provide technical leadership and guidance to the cloud engineering team.
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes as a Runtime Platform, including core concepts.
- Experience managing upgrades and migrations of Amazon EKS clusters.
- Experience with CNCF and alternative tooling.
- Experience providing support of EKS clusters to a diverse development community.
- Development of Kubernetes operators to automate toil and improve developer experience.
- Hands-on experience with one or more cloud computing platform providers AWS/Azure/GCP
- Advanced knowledge of Containerization and Container Runtime/Orchestration platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS )
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane & Cloud Formation.
- Proficiency with programming languages like Golang, Python, Java, JS/TS .
- Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience implementing multi-cloud architectures
- Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC)
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, )
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
