As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Investment Bank Payment Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Design, develop, and deploy full stack solutions for the Payments Data Platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
- Implement best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the stack
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Proven experience in full stack software development
- Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot for backend development
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js)
- Experience with Apache Flink and Databricks
- TDD and BDD mindset
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, GraphQL and RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Certification in software development or related fields is a plus
- Lead and mentoring experience
