Securities Services - Collateral Service Product Management - Associate

J.P. Morgan Collateral Services is part of the Trading Services business within the broader Securities Services organization. The Collateral Services products, including Triparty and Collateral Management, offer value-added services to institutional clients such as buy-side market participants, banks, and broker-dealers. These services facilitate liquidity, reduce counterparty risk, and improve operational efficiency. The APAC Collateral Services Product Management team is responsible for developing and delivering collateral solutions for regional markets to clients globally.

As a Product Manager role in the APAC Collateral Service Product Management Team, you will be based in Tokyo and focus on managing collateral services products, which may include collateral for Stock Loan, Repo, or Derivatives. You will be developing collateral solutions in collaboration with other Product Managers within Tokyo and across APAC to provide new and effective solutions to clients, as well as improving operational efficiency for existing markets.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the Collateral Services Product Strategy, including understanding, planning, forecasting, and reporting P&L, as well as managing product commercial aspects like pricing and expense management.
  • Build and manage collateral solutions based on client requirements and market dynamics in Japan, as well as product requirements for relevant APAC markets.
  • Stay informed about emerging industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments to proactively inform product strategy and ensure alignment with market expectations.
  • Manage daily escalations, provide guidance to functional partners, and offer technical support to client-facing teams, including marketing information related to new and existing product functionalities.
  • Provide Product Thought Leadership through internal materials and market publications and collaborate with partner functions to deliver the product offering consistently.
  • Apply product expertise in the development and roll-out of collateral solutions, manage projects/initiatives with proper governance and control, and ensure the product is appropriately marketed and positioned with new and existing clients.
  • Act as the key product sponsor for technology initiatives, providing guidance and day-to-day decision-making to program and project teams.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or related disciplines
  • Securities Financing and/or Collateral Management industry experience
  • Innovation: Experience working effectively in a changing environment and a passion for creating practical solutions to new challenges.
  • Project Management: Highly structured and methodical in execution; demonstrate a keen eye for identifying and resolving risks, as well as strong project governance and control.
  • Strong Presentation and Communication Skills: Ability to organize, communicate, and influence a range of audiences; expected to display exceptional logical communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas simply.
  • Analytical Skills: Expected to disseminate substantial amounts of information and present this data logically, ultimately contributing to future product delivery.
  • Strategic Thinking: Focus on superior strategic/breakthrough thinking and problem-solving abilities related to the business and the delivery of new product offerings.
  • Relationship Skills: Ability to gain access to individuals within a wide range of functions in the organization; earn a reputation for integrity, intelligence, and problem-solving.
  • Native proficiency in Japanese and fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experiences in Financial Services, particularly in the Securities Servicing Industry.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage a senior-level audience.
  • Proven experience in delivering on commitments to clients.
  • Experience interacting with multiple functional areas across Product, Operations, Technology, Legal, Risk, and Sales.
  • Demonstrated influencing skills and strategic thinking.
  • Clear communicator, able to easily adapt communication style in different situations.
