Job Summary

The Global Security (GS) Team provides security protection, investigation, resiliency, and crisis management services in support of JPMorganChase, its employees, customers, assets, and facilities throughout the world. This responsibility includes the development of security and safety policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative compliance, security guard management, alarm response, branch and corporate building security, customer safety, physical crime investigations, and workplace violence.

As a Regional Security Director within Global Security, you will assist meaningful policy and procedure change that will achieve both the business and security program objectives. Reporting directly to the Executive Director for Corporate Physical Security North America, you will lead the planning and execution of corporate security programs for the western United States. You will develop and implement with your team enhanced security protocols, procedures, and policies to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities to the firm's people, property, and proprietary information. Additionally, you will serve as the Global Security liaison to the local leadership and executive committees. Your role will involve travel with occasional overnight stay, providing you with the opportunity to promote programs that will achieve both the business and security program objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Regional Security professionals
  • Respond to incidents and coordinate staff follow up, including necessary investigation and risk mitigation, in partnership with LOB business management, corporate partners, and local law enforcement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and lines of communication with law enforcement agencies, key LOB partners and management, participate in key management meetings to maintain visibility and open lines of communication, and coordinate plans to mitigate known civil disturbances, protests, etc. that have proximity or target company locations and personnel.
  • Manage guard force in assigned facilities.
  • Perform periodic security review and risk assessment at assigned facilities and conduct periodic security and personal safety training.
  • Support security infrastructure projects at assigned properties.
  • Be available for after-hours response to emergency incidents.
  • Travel on occasion in support of the GS responsibilities.

Required Qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of security management experience with corporate security local/state/federal law enforcement, or military.
  • 5+ years of leading a security team
  • Experience in performing risk analysis, identifying vulnerabilities, conducting threat modelling, and performing security reviews
  • Advanced analytical skills, decision making capability, strong critical thinking and high degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic/ambiguous environment operating with initiative from the strategic to tactical level
  • Attention to detail and delivery oriented, able to effectively plan and track to prescribed timeline, excellent follow-through
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, able to work with multiple teams, including the ability to effectively lead a team or work unit
  • Experience in information gathering, tracking, and consolidation, reporting, dashboards, and executive presentations
  • Knowledge of physical security technology systems and strong familiarity with physical and procedural security concepts
  • Self-starter and motivated, flexible and comfortable working with multiple competing timelines and able to operate with limited supervision
  • Effective ability to communicate in a concise manner both in speaking, and writing leveraging Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree
