The Credit Decisioning Unit (CDU), which sits with the Marketing Growth & Innovation (MG&I) organization, owns first-line risk-taking for Card and Connect Commerce, and is accountable for first-line ownership of originations and account management risk-taking activities. We are seeking a strategic and highly analytical Senior Associate to join our Card Portfolio Balance Transfer Strategy team. This individual will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and driving insights for our balance transfer initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong qualitative and quantitative skills, is adept at conducting and leveraging competitive and data analysis, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about leveraging data to uncover actionable insights, understands consumer credit dynamics, and can support strategic decision-making across marketing, product, finance, and risk teams.
As a Senior Associate in the Card Portfolio Balance Transfer Strategy team within the Credit Decisioning Unit, you will play a key role in managing, optimizing, and promoting insights for our balance transfer initiatives. You will support the end-to-end management of the balance transfer program, conduct deep-dive data analysis, perform competitive intelligence, develop reporting dashboards, partner with cross-functional teams, assist in forecasting, and contribute to program governance enhancement.
Job responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end management of the balance transfer program, including offer experimentation, testing, and optimization, focusing on fee, APR, and term, and performance tracking.
- Conduct deep-dive data analysis to assess program effectiveness, identify trends & growth opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Perform competitive intelligence and benchmarking to monitor peer activity, industry trends, and potential opportunities.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and tools to support visibility and transparency of balance transfer performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Marketing, Risk, Finance, and Analytics to align on objectives and ensure executional excellence.
- Assist in forecasting and scenario planning related to balance transfer volume, profitability/P&L, and credit performance.
- Contribute to the enhancement of program governance through documentation, controls, and issue management support.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Strong analytical mindset with a demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and distill insights into clear, actionable outcomes.
- High proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Alteryx); experience with SQL and/or SAAS a strong plus.
- Ability to synthesize qualitative inputs with quantitative findings to form holistic insights.
- Solid understanding of consumer credit products, balance transfer strategies, and lending economics.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
