This role will focus on driving strategic communications - focused on driving business growth, reputation and leadership for our pipeline and exciting new product innovations. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, this individual will be responsible for crafting compelling messaging, driving content creation, and coordinating various communication activities across multiple channels. In partnership with the Director, she/he will also serve as a key communications advisor to various members of the DPS Leadership Teams.

This individual must be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments with multiple internal and external partners. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong executive presence and the confidence and ability to provide expert communications counsel to business leaders. Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to design and execute external communication strategies for key pipeline, product and business milestones, ensuring consistency of messaging and alignment of cross-functional efforts.

• Lead the creation of engaging content for various platforms, including press releases, message maps, social media, graphic content, etc. and ensure their appropriate business reviews and approvals.

• Work cross functionally to develop a repository of both internal and external earned and paid media stories featuring HCPs, patients and trends.

• Help surface potential issues and develop issues-management strategies that support business objectives and reputation.

• Partner with Public Affairs to support engagements that strengthen DePuy Synthes' position as a leader in orthopaedics.

• Develop R&D and innovation communications stories.

• Work with media and investor relations teams to strategically position the business.

• Support Business Development communications efforts.

• Provide limited site-based communications support.

• Partnering with business leaders, develop internal communication strategy and messages to inspire, engage, inform and align employees.

• Ensure regular touch-points with cross-functional teams to track and plan for key data and other milestones.

• Collaborate with Region leads to share best practices, core messages and materials to prepare for OUS launches and strategies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated ability as a strategic communicator, with minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Strong experience with external, commercially driven communications (i.e., media relations, product milestone communications, branding)
  • Skills to build authentic relationships and trust with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for various audiences, including investors, media, surgeons and patients
  • Strong social media experience
  • Ability to measure business impact for public relations programs
  • Ability and experience supervising agency partners and overseeing budget
  • Experience leading multiple priorities in complex, fast-paced environments
  • Experience with internal communications (i.e., employee engagement, executive communications)

Preferred:

  • Consumer and patient-facing communications experience
  • 10 years+ experience
  • Prior work in medical devices, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or consumer health fields
  • Current or previous experience working in highly regulated environment and a demonstrated understanding of regional health authorities
  • Able to translate business objectives into communications programs that achieve measurable results.
  • Investor relations experience.
  • This position may require up to 10-20% domestic and international travel.

Salary

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The base pay range for this position is $118,000 - $203,000 USD

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
