Inventory Analyst I

JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for managing and coordinating inventory materials for production lines within a tech manufacturing facility, working with both onsite inventory and external 3PL (Third Party Logistics) partners. This role involves monitoring inventory transactions, analyzing discrepancies, and providing solutions to ensure material availability for production. A critical part of the role includes calculating and ordering materials needed to support production builds, using both onsite inventory and available stock held by 3PL partners. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Excel, experience with SAP or similar systems, and expertise in root cause analysis.

WORK SCHEDULE:
- Standard Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 5:30 PM on a rotating continental shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze current inventory levels and manage the movement or transfer of materials both within the site and to/from 3PL partners.
- Calculate and order material requirements for production builds using available stock and forecasts.
- Review and follow up on cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts using root cause analysis.
- Provide solutions and recommendations to production workcells and the Inventory Control Manager to prevent recurring inventory issues.
- Analyze performance metrics such as downtime, inventory adjustments, rework lists, backflush integrity, material returns, and line inventory levels.
- Collaborate with 3PL partners to coordinate material availability and ensure accuracy in transfers and transactions.
- Authorize adjustments for inventory discrepancies and maintain proper documentation.
- Follow up on financial reports related to backflush variations, consumption trends, and related inventory financials.
- Manage the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process to ensure timely and accurate handling of returned stock.
- Support development and implementation of improved materials management and inventory control systems.
- Work cross-functionally with supervisors, engineering, and program management to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and company policies related to inventory management.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Inventory Control Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with 3PL inventory systems is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; ability to manipulate and analyze inventory data efficiently.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory transactions and reporting.
- Strong understanding of material planning, ordering, and inventory reconciliation.
- Root cause analysis expertise for investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Effective communicator with the ability to present findings and solutions to various departments.
- Comfortable with conducting financial report reviews and drawing inventory insights from data.
- Capable of performing standard math functions and interpreting charts, graphs, and ratios.
- Advanced PC skills and familiarity with inventory management software and reporting tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
