Job Overview:

We're looking for an Assistant Controller to be a key leader on our finance and accounting team and oversee general accounting operations. This role will manage daily accounting activities across areas such as revenue, leases, accounts payable, payroll, and intercompany transactions. You'll help build scalable operations and improve systems, with a focus on automation and AI adoption. The ideal candidate values transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and will play a key role in streamlining processes, enhancing systems, and mentoring the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, mentor, and develop team members
  • Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities, including preparation or review of all required analyses and balance sheet reconciliations and account fluctuation analysis
  • Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger reporting, as well as upstream transactional processes
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations through automation and the transformation of legacy processes. Research and implement initiatives to integrate AI and automation into accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy 
  • Enforce and help refine our accounting policies under US GAAP
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and review procedures for applicable areas
  • Collaborate with FP&A to support monthly management reporting and flux analyses
  • Support external audit requirements
  • Partner with outsourced accounting partners in our India COE on accounting matters

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 7+ years of total experience with escalating levels of responsibility, including people management 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 
  • NetSuite experience preferred, FloQast or Zip a plus. 
  • Experience in either a SaaS or Technology business with recurring-revenue is preferred
  • Work experience in public accounting is a plus, as is experience in a public company or private equity environment
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting, including ASC 842, ASC 606, ASC 350-40, and foreign currency matters.  
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, high energy, initiative and creativity. Ability to develop and motivate team, and manage cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to assess and implement technology to automate and optimize key accounting processes 
  • Experience with AMEX, Concur and a travel/card solution is a plus

Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.

$180,000$200,000 USD
