Job Description
Primary Function of Position
- To foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Site.
- This role will report to the Site Continuous Improvement Manager and lead collaborations on the creation and deployment of Continuous Improvement programs, principles, methodologies, and tools.
- The scope of this role is Site-wide, and it includes overseeing and managing the Lean Six Sigma program within the site, enhancing ongoing governance, measures, developing and enhancing continuous improvement training, coaching, and mentoring.
Essential Job Duties
- Facilitates the spread of a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Responsible of development and manages the Lean Six Sigma program roadmap, aligning projects with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
- Coordinates and leads the Lean Six Sigma programs, ensuring effective execution and delivery of measurable results.
- Serves as a key point of contact for all Lean Six Sigma efforts within the organization, collaborating with executives and stakeholders.
- Train, mentor, and coach project teams, including Green Belts and other Six Sigma practitioners, in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
- Promote awareness and engagement in Lean Six Sigma practices within the Site.
- Ensures the integration of Lean and Six Sigma principles in project execution to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards, company policies and the IPS (Intuitive Production System) in all program activities.
- Coordinates and facilitates the Policy Deployment (Hoshin Kanri) process within Mexicali, from goals and strategy definition up to progression reviews.
- Guide and assess Leadership -as needed- to improve their continuous improvement skills (including strategic planning) and their understanding of the Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Design, implement, monitor, train and sustain specific Lean/Six Sigma systems and methodologies within the Site.
- Performs other duties related to Operational Excellence as needed or required.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Subject matter expert on Six Sigma: Principles, Methods, Tools.
- Knowledge transfer to colleagues and team members. Able to effectively Train, Mentor, and Coach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Serves as a thought leader for the organization and provides change leadership to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Effectively collaborates while deferring to expertise in workgroups, project teams, and on improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrates accountability, effectively builds trust, and develops positive relationships across the organization.
- Follow through on commitments and communicate updates or issues to stakeholders throughout the organization.
- 10 years of experience implementing the Lean/Six Sigma principles in both manufacturing and business environments.
- Proven track record of implementing successful Lean Six Sigma projects in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, or other industries.
Required Education and Training
- Professional Career (Engineering or Business disciplines are preferred; Master degree is desirable).
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt Certified by an accredited body or equivalent.
e.g., ASQ is a must. - +90% English.
Working Conditions
- US Visa required.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Lean Champion and/or LSS Master Black Belt certifications or equivalent preparation is highly desirable.
- APICS Certification is a plus.
- Project management (PMP certification is a plus)
- Advanced experience in Management of Change.
- Advanced experience with Minitab.
