Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

The Program Managers in Digital is responsible for delivering new products. We are looking for a person with proven track records of delivering complex, integrated, cross-functional products with super high quality standards. Digital program managers are engaged in all aspects of the product lifecycle from requirements research and architectural design to software engineering development, QA, deployment, and market rollout. You will align hardware and software engineering, clinical, and regulatory schedules, ensuring that the right products are created at the right time.

This is not a task-based job; you will be responsible for successful outcomes and delivery of Digital Programs.

The role requires an expertise of product development and manufacturing, project management, and most importantly managing through influence.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establish clear project charter, goals, and targets and develop tasks, timelines, resources and milestones. Ensure plan is flexible to accommodate changes
  • Effectively manage cross-functional development teams across Intuitive
  • Oversee critical projects and delivering against commitments
  • Identify the critical path, constraints, contingencies and mitigations to achieve project goals
  • Escalate threats and risks as required to functional management and senior leadership
  • Help the team prioritize the tasks to focus on the critical activities that drive progress and avoid being sidetracked by less important issues
  • Partner with the cross-functional teams to ensure the right people are updated with the correct information at the best time on status
  • Ensure cross-product dependencies are implied, planned for, and executed
  • Perform risk analysis, develop contingency plans, and gather data from functions to proactively raise prioritization and scheduling tradeoff recommendations
  • Drive required discipline and rigor in requirements exploration, design, development, and testing through good development practices and effective use of phase gates
  • Work across the organization and external partners as needed to align functional help and input for the project
  • Contribute and help drive improvement Intuitive project management processes and ongoing improvements to the way we ship new products and capabilities

Qualifications

Skill/Job Requirements

  • 12+ years project management experience with minimum of a four year degree or 10 years with a masters degree
  • Demonstrated excellence in program management capabilities across product lifecycle, from ideation through commercialization
  • Excellent grasp of the software development engineering practices, manufacturing and quality control
  • Direct experience with development and commercialization of medical technology
  • Expertise of Design Controls under US and International Regulations (510K)
