  • Covering local school district needs in Lackawanna County
  • Competitive pay: $22–$24 per hour

  • Consistent schedule: Follows the school calendar with weekends, holidays (unpaid), and summers off

  • Summer schedule: Evening and Overnight hours commonly offered in various settings such as group homes, personal care homes, and in-home care. Occasional daytime hours may be offered at summer camps, ESY, or on weekends.
  • Verbal and Physical De-Escalation Training will be provided

Interim Healthcare of Scranton is seeking reliable, compassionate, and proactive Intervention Specialists to join our school-based team. This role supports students in Emotional and Behavioral Support (EBS) classrooms, providing one-on-one assistance and helping maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities for the School-Based Intervention Specialist:

  • Provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs

  • Serve as the lead response during crisis situations in the classroom

  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and promote student safety

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, and behavioral staff

  • Support the student’s daily routines, including academics, transitions, and behavioral goals

Minimum Qualifications for the School-Based Intervention Specialist:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Experience working with children, especially in behavioral or special education settings, strongly preferred

  • Ability to remain calm and take initiative during high-stress situations

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Dependability and a commitment to the full school year
