The Data Center Compiler team develops compilers and components for various programming models used in AI and High-Performance Compute solutions on Intel GPUs. The variety of the programming languages we develop compilers for includes OpenCL, OpenMP, C for Metal, Data Parallel C++, as well as AI-related development tools.

The Data Center Compiler team within the Client Graphics and AI organization at Intel has an opportunity available for a Compiler Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies to design and develop compiler software and programming languages for future GPU architectures. In this role you will work on LLVM-based compilers, implement new features, analyze and fix issues, and develop performance optimizations. As an engineer in this role, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with software and hardware architecture teams, communicate with internal and external customers, and influence development vector for future GPUs.

Behavior skills we are looking for:

A successful candidate should be able to estimate and plan technical task and execute according to the estimations. Good communications skills are required since the job requires collaborations with multi-national teams in various parts of the globe.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree and 4+ years of experience in all of the following:

  • C/C++, object-oriented programming, data structures.
  • Compiler development: knowledge of compiler architecture, compilation phases, code optimizations.
  • Experience in software development infrastructure - GitHub, Jira, CMake
  • Scripting language(s) (Python or Shell for example)
  • Experience in developing software on Linux and Windows OS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Computer Science or Computer/Software/Electrical Engineering

  • LLVM and/or MLIR compiler development
  • GPU and parallel programming models such as OpenCL, CM, OpenMP or DPC++ (SYCL)

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $162,082.00-$243,222.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
