Overview

Insight Global is a multi-national staffing and managed services company in North America placing more than 50,000 consultants annually. Our IT Organization is working on cutting edge digital and technology transformation projects.

The Business Solutions team is responsible for the delivery of Insight Global's proprietary IT systems as well as 3rd party software integrations. The Business Solutions team is comprised of the Product, Software Development, and Quality Assurance organizations.

We are seeking a Product Owner to oversee the development and enhancement of one of our large, business-critical, proprietary software applications. This person will lead cross-functional working teams to design, develop, and implement prioritized product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

Day in the Life:

  • Lead discussions and workshops for gathering product requirements from business stakeholders and users
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to translate business requirements into detailed feature specifications in the form of user stories. Develop acceptance criteria that is measurable and testable
  • Organize backlog based on clear understanding of cross-organizational priorities and business impact
  • Be the voice of the customer, making prudent product decisions based on user feedback and business value
  • Accept or reject the delivery team's work results; ensuring development decisions stay aligned with business needs, and any issues that arise are addressed as quickly as possible
  • Lead product demos to key stakeholders
  • Communicate sprint deliverables and timelines to management and business stakeholders
  • Understand integration points to 3rd party systems and provide feedback to development teams to ensure data is passed properly between systems
  • Consistently deliver outstanding functionality and workflows that satisfy and delight users
  • Participate in daily Scrum meetings to support developers and QA team during sprints
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders
  • Support training documentation and classes on system functionality to end-users
  • Partner with Product Management and Product Strategy for development, maintenance, and communication of Product Roadmap
  • Evangelize the value of the products and enhancements across the organization.
  • Become the subject matter expert on your product(s), providing support and training to peers, internal IT staff, and department super users
  • Explore and leverage new technologies - automation, interactive design methods to provide new solutions to complex customer problems

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • 5-7 years' experience with enterprise IT and product delivery in a product-led environment
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager on an agile team; scrum, kanban, or lean
  • Tactical experience with multiple software development lifecycle methodologies, including Scrum.
  • Results-driven, solution focused mindset. Commitment to removing blockers, simplifying complex problems and identifying options to mitigate risks/issues in an organized and structured way
  • Highly Analytical and Data-Driven: You are able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products. You know what to look at to support decision-making and set effective goals
  • Communication, Collaboration and Team Building Skills: You thrive in a dynamic, agile environment leading enthusiastic team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • You write well, understand the power of storytelling, and can parse through the numbers to uncover the story within. You are comfortable presenting to and influencing senior-level executives
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with stakeholders, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
  • Working experience with JIRA and analytical tools
  • Comfort writing detailed, technical user stories
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • On site at HQ office minimum three (3) days per week

Plusses:

  • 2+ years of experience in staffing industry
  • Experience in one or more of the following systems: ATS (Applicant Tracking System), HRIS, CRM or ERP
  • Experience in web responsive design
  • Proficiency with business support software applications such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Visio)
