Test lead - Retail Domain and Point of Sale ( Micros/Xstore etc.)

Infosys is seeking a Test Lead with experience in Retail Domain and Point of Sale ( Micros/Xstore etc.)
As a QA Test Lead, you will act as a validation and quality assurance expert and review the functionality of existing systems. You will conduct requirement analysis, define test strategy & design and lead execution to guarantee superior outcomes. You will also be required to design an optimal test environment to simulate real-time scenarios. Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Plano, TX. This position may require travel.
• At least 4 years of working experience in QA Testing
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on ecommerce and point of sale testing.
• Experience in working with POS applications from products such as NCR, Verifone etc..
• Expe rience in ePOS is plus.
• Proven experience leading and managing QA teams.
• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG).
• Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience in Data base testing.
• Experience in leading and managing the offshore teams
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Test Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and plans, including test case design, test data preparation, and test execution.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, business analysts) to understand requirements and translate them into effective test plans.
  

Test Execution and Management:

• Lead and manage a team of QA engineers to ensure timely and efficient test execution.
  
• Monitor test progress, identify and resolve issues, and report on test status and metrics.
  
• Perform manual and automated testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
  

Defect Tracking and Management:

• Track and manage defects, ensuring timely resolution and verification.
  
• Prioritize defects based on severity and impact, and work with development teams to address issues.
  

Automation:

• Drive automation efforts to improve test efficiency and coverage.
  
• Collaborate with the automation team to develop and maintain automated test scripts.
  

Risk Management:

• Identify and mitigate potential risks to the quality of the product.
  
• Implement risk-based testing strategies to ensure the highest quality.
  

Client Communication:

• Effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment on testing activities.
  
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams to foster collaboration and trust.
  

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
