Role: - Associate Consultant (Data Science Analyst - Information Security Group - Financial Services)
Location: - Sydney
Status - 6 Months fixed term, extendable based on project requirement

About the Role
We're looking for a highly skilled and analytical Data Scientist to join the ISG team of a leading financial services organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, uncovering insights from large datasets, and building models that support cyber risk management, threat detection, and regulatory compliance.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and technology to develop data-driven solutions that enhance decision-making and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy advanced analytics and machine learning models to support ISG initiatives.
- Analyze large-scale security and risk datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards for real-time monitoring and reporting.
- Translate business and security requirements into scalable data science solutions.
- Support regulatory reporting, threat intelligence, and risk modeling efforts.
- Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About You
- 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative research in financial services or cybersecurity.
- Proficient in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, threat modeling, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CPS 234, NIST, ISO 27001).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
