Introduction

The IBM SMPO Migration Brand Technical Specialist will be responsible for developing an in-depth working knowledge of the client industries and an ability to technically support Competitive Software Replace solutions. Understand the competitive landscape with regard to enterprise IT Infrastructures, competitive software vendors, competitive platform vendors including an understanding of on premise as well as cloud-based offerings in our client's infrastructures as well as understand the framework within which an industry operates and the underlying competitive strategies.

The IBM SMPO Migration Brand Technical Specialist will help develop software solution strategies and present to client sponsors, which can include the IT, Line of Business and Executive Teams.The IBM SMPO Migration Brand Technical Specialist is responsible for participating in multi-disciplined solution teams and will participate in and lead multiple opportunities concurrently.

Your role and responsibilities

The IBM SMPO Migration Brand Technical Specialist is responsible to help build Competitive Software Replace Solutions for our Clients. They will be responsible for providing technical input to sales strategy to drive closure of IBM System Z Software Solutions for multiple markets and/or verticals. Executive and management communications, sales forecasting support with accuracy, and coordination are critical to the success of the team and company. The IBM SMPO Migration Brand Technical Specialist will help build Competitive Replace Win Plans and work closely with both Software sellers, Client Teams, technical resources both internal and external and the broader IBM teams to progress and close opportunities.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5+ Years Mainframe (OS/390, z/OS, System Z) experience.

• 2+ Years technical pre-sales experience.

• Excellent communication skills across various functional teams and executive management, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical contributors.

• This role will be required to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions regarding migration paths and activities

• The position is an individual contributor and work as a team with internal employees, contractors and client employees.

• Excellent problem solving skills, demonstrating the ability to team, but also work independently and self-lead.

• Exhibit proficiency with Excel, Word and Powerpoint (minimally)

• Travel will be required.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Technical Architect experience.

• Cross Brand System Z Software experience.
