Your role and responsibilities
As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying software solutions for application modernization using Generative AI technologies. This role requires a strong technical foundation, expertise in cloud-based AI/ML solutions, and an ability to optimize software performance through modern architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy modernized applications utilizing Generative AI technologies.
- Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code using Python and JavaScript (Node.js, TypeScript); experience with FastAPI is a plus.
- Leverage IBM Cloud services and AI/ML technologies, particularly watsonx, for intelligent application development.
- Work with developer tools such as GitHub, VSCode, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline development.
- Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases like Db2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Implement microservices and serverless architectures for scalable solutions.
- Solve complex software challenges with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for AI-driven application integration and deployment.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
- 5+ years of software development experience with a strong foundation in coding, debugging, and optimization.
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js, TypeScript) frameworks; FastAPI experience is advantageous.
- Expertise in IBM Cloud services and AI/ML technologies, especially watsonx.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools, including GitHub, VSCode, and CI/CD automation.
- Strong understanding of database technologies such as Db2, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
- Extensive experience in containerization, using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Solid knowledge of microservices and serverless architectures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strategic approach to software development.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Familiarity with FastAPI for building lightweight and efficient applications.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices for cloud-based AI applications.
- Experience in high-performance computing and data processing pipelines.
- Understanding of AI-driven automation and optimization techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize large-scale distributed systems.
