Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Defense and Intelligence team in Switzerland. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable software systems that directly support national security missions. You will work at the intersection of advanced technology and real-world impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build mission-critical applications for government and defense stakeholders.This position is ideal for experienced engineers who thrive in complex, high-stakes environments and want to contribute their skills to meaningful public-sector challenges.What You'll Do:

• Lead the development of secure web applications and internal tools across the full stack
• Architect scalable backend services and design responsive frontend interfaces using modern frameworks
• Own technical decisions and contribute to long-term technology strategy
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
• Collaborate with analysts, domain experts, and external partners to align software solutions with mission needs
• Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and security audits
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements specific to the defense sector

Required education

Doctorate Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• Advanced degree (PhD or MSc) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in full-stack development, preferably in high-security or mission-critical domains
• Proficiency in modern web frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Django)
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, REST APIs, database design, and cloud infrastructure
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from concept to deployment
• Swiss citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance (mandatory for some projects)

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience working in defense, intelligence, or other regulated industries
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and threat modeling
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government)
• Proficiency in German or French
