In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Project Manager to join our team and lead complex cloud migration and implementation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing cloud initiatives, with excellent organizational and communication skills. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure successful project execution and delivery.Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage multiple cloud migration and implementation projects simultaneously.
  2. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  3. Facilitate effective communication between clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors.
  4. Monitor project progress, manage risks, and resolve issues as they arise.
  5. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and developers to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  6. Manage project documentation, including status reports, project plans, and risk assessments.
  7. Oversee the coordination of resources, including personnel, hardware, and software.
  8. Ensure compliance with company policies, standards, and industry best practices.
  9. Mentor junior project managers and share knowledge with the team.
  10. Stay current with cloud computing trends and advancements.


Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  1. 10+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on cloud solutions.
  2. Proven track record managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related services.
  4. Strong understanding of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, preferably ITIL.
  5. Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  7. Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  8. Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).
  9. Knowledge of data center operations and infrastructure.
  10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; Master's preferred.


Preferred technical and professional experience

  1. Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect).
  2. Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Docker).
  3. Familiarity with infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  4. Contributions to open-source projects or personal projects showcasing expertise in cloud project management.
