Introduction

Successful candidates will have demonstrated past experience in analyzing complex technical situations, anticipating potential problems and future trends, and assessing opportunities and risks while developing and implementing plans and creating solution deliverables for client contracts. As a leader of the team, the IBM Solution Architect guides other professionals and assumes overall technical responsibility for the successful design, solution construction, implementation and system integration of IBM B2B projects. The position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures.

Your role and responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to gather facts (through primary and secondary research, structured and unstructured interviews, surveys, etc.) in support of specific engagements, typically one engagement at a time. They are responsible for the design, analysis (customer, financial, operational) and presentation of data. Individuals are expected to create original work products with minimal supervision. Delivery Consultants apply knowledge of consulting methodologies, key technologies, engagement support tools and demonstrate strong knowledge of their competency area and/or industry. Additionally, Delivery Consultants establish relationships within client organizations and deliver timely, high quality service to our clients.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Personally contribute to the project success.
• Manage individual scope & services according to the Statement of Work (SOW); Escalate scope creep and other project issues.
• Develop and maintain strong client/partner relationships
• Create, use, and share intellectual capital (reusable assets).
• Develop, use, and share established best practices to improve results and efficiency of the integration team
• Provide feedback to the Product Management and Development team based on customer requirements or implementation issues.
• Assist Support during critical situations and deployments of projects.
• Promote and manage application of quality processes, tools & training among peers.
• Provide feedback to management team for ways to increase departmental operational efficiencies.

Required education

Associate's Degree/College Diploma

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

• Direct experience in the following IBM Sterling Data Exchange (SDE) products and technologies: IBM Sterling Integrator (B2BI), Sterling File Gateway (SFG), IBM Standards Processing Engine (SPE), IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender (ITX/A), IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS), IBM Control Center (ICC/D), Gentran, Connect Direct/Enterprise, IBM Partner Engagement Manager (PEM/PCM).
• Experience in working with communication/data handling protocols and knowledge of industry data standards.
• Experience in application programming/scripting technologies
• Highly skilled in complex problem solving, critical thinking and facililtation of decision making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience working with IBM complementary products: IBM WebSphere family, Cognos, IBM Cloudant, IBM Cloud Paks and Instana
• Experience with DevOps including implementing automated Build and Release Pipelines (aka Ansible, ArgoCD, Chef, Rancher, etc.)
• Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and deploying container applications
• Knowledge of popular Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
