Your role and responsibilities

Data Engineer, IBM Corporation, Armonk, NY and various unanticipated client sites throughout the US

  • Act as Business Analyst/Data Engineer to analyze business and application requirements and provide the corresponding optimal and quality data models that would translate to Data Definition Language (DDL) scripts.
  • Organize and review DDLs for seamless deployment to development and test databases and eventually to production databases.
  • Develop and test databases and ensure all database changes are rigorously tested and execute monitoring to help manage production deployment within the outage window.
  • Implement Erwin Data Modeling Tool and Oracle Database to update data models to reflect the correct production database version and provide highly informative data dictionaries for future planning and analysis of database requirements/ business requirements.
  • Work closely with the application team, the change management team, project management team and Database Administrators (DBAs) and create credible and quality data models and DDLs to help guarantee error-free production deployment of all database changes.
  • Utilize: erwin Data Modeler, Logical and Physical Data Modeling, Oracle Database, Relational Databases, Structured Query Language (SQL), Data Architecture and Metadata Mapping, Data Management/Design, Data Warehousing.
