In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Front-End Developer with deep expertise in WordPress and modern front-end technologies. This role combines hands-on development with leadership responsibilities and requires excellent communication and planning skills. The ideal candidate will contribute to the architecture, development, and optimization of advanced web applications, while also mentoring junior developers and managing task execution.
Technical Development
• Design and develop custom WordPress themes and plugins tailored to business needs.
• Work extensively with Gutenberg editor for block-based content creation.
• Develop interactive and responsive interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid), and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Utilize React and Tailwind CSS for creating modern, maintainable, reusable UI components.
• Integrate and customize Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for enhanced content management.
• Implement animation libraries for smooth, high-performance UI interactions like Motion.dev.
• Ensure websites are SEO-optimized, accessible, and performant across all devices.
• Manage integrations with external services and APIs (e.g. CRMs, Maps, Ecommerce Gateways).
• Use PHP for server-side development within WordPress.
• Maintain high code quality, adhering to best practices in version control (Git), modular design, and documentation.
• Apply "security by design" best practices while developing new features or improvements.
• Develop and release applications via Docker containers.
Leadership & Project Management
• Guiding and mentoring junior developers within the team.
• Estimate task complexity and development time for features and releases.
• Plan, prioritize, and manage development workflows using Agile methodologies.
• Ensure project deadlines are met while maintaining code quality and consistency.
• Support solution design and contribute to technical proposals and documentation.
Communication & Collaboration
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Explain complex technical solutions in a clear, client-friendly manner.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, project managers, and QA teams.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and help foster knowledge sharing
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
4+ years of experience in front-end development, with a strong WordPress background.
• Proficiency in Gutenberg editor and block development.
• Strong experience in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), PHP.
• Familiarity with React, Tailwind CSS, and animation tools like Motion.dev.
• Deep understanding of responsive and accessible web design.
• Experience working with ACF and custom WordPress configurations.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated ability to support jr. teams, estimate work, and manage timelines
Preferred technical and professional experience
* Experience with multilingual and e-commerce WordPress sites.
• Background in UI/UX design principles.
• Familiarity with Agile development environments.
• Experience with performance optimization and SEO strategy.
• Previous involvement in client-facing roles or solution consulting.
