Application Developer - RDBMS (Oracle) (f/m/x)

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Developer you'll participate in many aspects of the software development lifecycle, such as design, code implementation, testing, and support. You will create software that enables your clients' hybrid-cloud and AI journeys.

Participate in projects that are implementing database solutions for the Bank to meet user needs or comply with legal and regulatory requirements. This operational database provides the Bank and client applications with data to meet business challenges.

• Develop DB programs, using the agile method
• Integrate data from different systems and expose them in a consistent manner
• Create business data corresponding to user needs
• Develop and maintain analytical systems
• Develop and maintain test scripts for automated testing purposes.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Develop procedures and packages in Oracle PL/SQL
• Design of the database and batch processing
• Develop Unix scripts
• Ability to work on MS SQL Server, SSAS and Sybase IQ
• Creation of deployment scripts for production
• Technical and detailed specifications documentation
• Participation in project sessions
• Integration and user tests support
• Post go-live maintenance

Required technical and professional expertise

• Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, including advanced query writing and stored procedure development
• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Performance Tuning techniques
• Solid understanding of batch processing frameworks and their practical applications
• Experience with Unix Shell Scripting for automation and job scheduling
• Exposure to financial or banking domains, with an understanding of industry-specific processes
• Familiarity with Git for version control and Jira/Confluence for agile project tracking and documentation
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Highly self-organized, proactive, and a continuous learner
• Swiss or EU nationality/ valid Swiss work permit
• Swiss residency is required

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Working knowledge of Sybase IQ and Microsoft SQL Server is a strong advantage
• French language skills are a plus
