Our Speech Therapist will perform patient assessments, develop individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy technique

Speech Therapists are tasked with assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care. Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks. Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.

Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.

Other Duties

Participating in patient care conferences to discuss the need for the involvement of other members of the health team. Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner to assure compliance with agency policy. Demonstrate commitment and professional growth by participating in in-service programs and maintaining/improving competency. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Share information only when the recipient's right to access is clearly established and the sharing of such information is in the best interest of the patient. Maintain your required licenses, certifications, and mandatory skill updates. Comply with all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Provide other duties of healthcare team members as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements

Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.

Relevant license and certification.

Minimum of (1) one-year current experience in health care community. Home health experience preferred.

Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.

Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.

Familiarity with database management software.

Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.

Excellent relationship-building skills.

Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.

Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to participate in physical activity.

Ability to work for an extended period while standing and being involved in physical activity.

Heavy lifting.

Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.

Language Skills:

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Additional languages preferred.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$76,800 - $105,800 per year
