The Director, Learning Design uses instructional design, cognitive psychology, and adult learning theory to drive creation and execution of learning solutions for the IT enterprise. This person also drives execution Humana's IT Early Careers program which seeks to accelerate incorporate of junior talent with contemporary skillsets into the organization.

The Director of IT Learning and Talent Programs is responsible for developing and leading execution of the organization's roadmap for accelerating our teams' knowledge and skills to remain contemporary with its evolving industry and technology ecosystem. This person will also be responsible for continued maturation and scaling of Humana IT's Early Careers program, focused on drawing top junior talent with contemporary skillets into the organization from top colleges.

The ideal candidate is one who is passionate and is strategic about talent development and is an influential and collaborative leader.

The Director of IT Learning and Talent Programs has accountability for co-developing the overarching Talent Strategy with Humana IT's leaders and Human Resources partners, to support the transformation in Humana's technology ecosystem and in IT's ways of working. The leader will have end-to-end accountability for instructional design, curation, and facilitation, talent development programs, learning systems, and training effectiveness measurement.

As part of its accountability, the Director of IT Learning and Talent will also provide strategic leadership toward efforts to curate, develop, and deploy user training for associate technology tools we provide associates across Humana (i.e. . Examples of these tools include Office 365, Zoom, etc. The role incumbent also oversees the initiatives to build and maintain talent pipelines for IT.

All of the above requires a strong project/program management skillset to drive successful planning and execution. Top candidates will be able to successfully define and track to Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in each area and effectively manage planning and completion of all work threads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply a customer-centric mindset to IT's approach towards learning and talent development activities.
  • Oversee IT's Upskilling strategy & agenda, including learning development, design, and delivery in support of IT's transformation initiatives and upskilling needs, serving almost 5,000 IT associates and key stakeholders across the company.
  • Drive strategy and execution of IT's college programs as a talent pipeline, including co-ops, internships, and post-bachelor's/graduate school program recruiting.
  • Design and deployment of talent development acceleration programs to fuel growth and learning among high potential talent.
  • Oversee the administration of an IT-wide New Hire Onboarding Program to assimilate newly hired associates into the IT culture.
  • Support and ensure successful implementation of IT's Talent Strategy in close coordination with Human Resources, IT Learning Strategies, IT Communications, key strategic IT partners, and leaders across IT.
  • Establish metrics / OKRs and infrastructure for monitoring effectiveness and value of IT's learning and talent development programs.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize IT's learning infrastructure, including learning management systems, badging platform, etc.Enable IT's culture strategy leveraging the Culture & Engagements teams across IT.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior executives around learning and development strategies.
  • Strong project/program management skillset and execution orientation to drive full end-to-end design and execution of Humana IT's entire portfolio of programs
  • Demonstrating acumen for IT concepts, principles and processes.
  • Experience in using quantitative and qualitative measures to assess learning and development program value and effectiveness.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving talent and organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated high learning agility and navigating through ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, communications, interpersonal skills, big picture thinking balanced with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Advanced degree in Organizational Development or Education
  • Experience with enabling digital or organizational transformation journeys
  • Process engineering or optimization experience, utilizing data to drive program design and execution decisions.

Work-At-Home Requirements

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$136,200 - $187,400 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
