The opportunity
As BU Supply Sustainability and Compliance Manager you will be responsible for integrating supplier environmental, social, and governance sustainability
initiatives aligned with Hitachi Energy's vision, mission, and strategies.
You will identify opportunities for reducing carbon emissions, waste
generation, and energy consumption across the supply chain. Also you will be
responsible for implementing measures to promote sustainable sourcing,
packaging, transportation, and waste management practices. Additionally,
they will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and develop
standardized processes for supplier sustainability legislations.
This position can be fulfilled within Europe. We are prioritizing skills and experience over physical work location.

How you'll make an impact
- Develop & implement the Business Unit SCM Sustainability strategy in alignment with global SCM and sustainability goals.
- Set targets & drive clarity on sustainability requirements from customers and regulations.
- Structure & report sustainability activities at both executive and detailed levels.
- Lead supplier sustainability assessments using EcoVadis and optimize related KPIs.
- Standardize regulatory compliance processes for key legislations (CBAM, EUDR, EU Battery Regulation, etc.).
- Ensure timely data collection for Product Material Compliance from suppliers.
- Lead & manage teams to align sustainability initiatives within SCM.
- Embed sustainability & compliance into SCM business processes and operating models.
Your Background
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, or Supply Chain combined with management or equivalent work experience with minimum 5 years in supply chain management, sustainability management
- Previous leadership experience in strategy/roadmap creation in supply base management and/or in Sustainability functions
- In-depth and successful experience implementing global sustainability programs in large, international organizations (preferably with a focus on Supplier Sustainability)
- In-depth understanding of supplier sustainability requirements such labor & human rights, sustainable procurement, environmental, safety and ethics
- Good understanding and previous experience with the material sustainability initiatives such as Life Cycle
- Assessments or green material introduction projects
- Excellent influencing, communication, and networking skills, matured in an international, matrixed organization
- Structured approach to problem-solving, with a highly proactive and result-driven attitude
- Fluent in English with strong presentation skills
- Knowledge of SAP Ariba, S/4Hana, and EcoVadis is a plus
- Flexibility to travel up to 25%
