Hitachi Energy is looking for a Global SCM Sustainability Specialist for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will facilitate global supplier due diligence and conduct sustainability assessments, ensuring compliance and driving best practices within the supply chain. How you will make an impact
- Facilitate global supplier due diligence activities to promote collaboration and achieve sustainability objectives
- Conduct sustainability assessments of suppliers to evaluate compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Gather and analyze materials information from suppliers to ensure sustainability criteria are met and positively impact the supply chain
- Follow up on key assessment findings with suppliers, ensuring effective implementation of remediation actions and improvement plans
- Monitor supplier performance against sustainability metrics to identify opportunities for collaboration and enhancement
- Conduct supply chain risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend key mitigation strategies, as needed
- Drive continuous improvement by sharing best practices and fostering innovation among teams and regions
- Provide training and support to suppliers and stakeholders, enhancing their sustainability capabilities and ensuring alignment with business objectives

Your background
- Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, sustainability, or related roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate data and identify trends related to supplier sustainability performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective interactions with diverse stakeholders, including suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Proven project management abilities, with experience in leading initiatives and coordinating multiple tasks
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability standards, regulations, and best practices within the supply chain context
- Willingness to travel internationally as needed to engage with suppliers and stakeholders
